About Squirt
Squirt is a wax based, long lasting dry lube for the use on bicycle chains. This liquid lubricant has unique properties that make it ideal for use in any cycling condition. It had been developed to give better lubrication, last longer and keep the chain cleaner over extreme distances for both MTB and road cycling. No degreasing is required.
Squirt is an emulsion that is blended under special controlled conditions from a number of waxes. This process gives it a unique smooth texture that makes it very easy to apply. No separation will take place under normal storage conditions and no clogging of the nozzle will occur.
Due to Squirt's composition, build-up due to dirt does not occur and no grinding paste will form. Continuous application can be done without having to clean the chain. Excess wax that gets expelled by the chain does not attract dirt, hardens slightly and falls off during riding. Cleaning with a dry brush is adequate. This lubricant also sticks to the chain longer and extends lubrication intervals.
Squirt Physical properties:
- This lubricant is not flammable.
- It has an off white colour with a very mild odour.
- Store between 5°C and 35°C.
- Thermal decomposition will only take place at approx.100°C.
- On skin contact, remove with warm water and soap. (Not readily absorbed through the skin)
How to apply:
Start with a new chain or degrease thoroughly all the black grinding paste that was your old lube.
Position upturned bottle near rear derailleur and spin pedals backwards applying a continuous milky film for about 2 complete cycles along the inside of the chain.
DO NOT WIPE OFF EXCESS. Squirt is just wax and water and any excess wax will slough away (this is how it works - dirt sticks to the wax and sloughs away).
Never degrease again. Simply reapply. and that is that.

The best wax lube yet
Not long ago, wax-based chain lubricants were hailed as the be-all-end-all, promising cleaner drivetrains, quiet operation and good longevity. After years of searching, Cyclingnews technical editor James Huang finally comes across one that actually lives up to its billing.
Bikinventions' whimsically-named Squirt comes off as just yet another wax-based chain lubricant but quickly proves itself to be different from the norm. It's far more viscous than other wax lubes, it doesn't stink and it doesn't settle much over time.
According to Bikinventions' Dewet Marais, this is because Squirt uses a water-based carrier instead of a more volatile organic solvent. This allows for a far higher-than-normal 40 percent wax-to-solvent ratio, a true wax-water emulsion that requires little shaking (if at all) and the slower-evaporating water lets the wax seep further into the chain, too.
As with other wax lubes, Bikinventions still recommends that you start with a squeaky-clean chain completely devoid of other lubricants or degreasers before the first application. Indeed, we got the best results using this procedure but were still surprised with Squirt's performance just by slathering it on.
In short, Squirt is easily the best dry-conditions wax-based lubricant we've used to date and the only one we've encountered that can last more than a single ride out in the impossibly fine dust of Moab, Utah and Fruita, Colorado. Chains stayed quieter and smoother for longer periods of time, and even remarkably clean over our six-month test period. Moreover, Squirt's impressive longevity also means you don't have to use as much of it so the bottle lasts longer.
As usual, though, wet conditions are Squirt's Achilles' heel. While its durability was still far better than other wax lubes we've used (enough to justify its use over messier wet lubes in some cases), true wet lubricants are still the way to go when the rain starts coming down. Also, since the water-based carrier evaporates more slowly, you have to allow more time after application before you head out lest you fling all the lube on to ground.
Even so, Bikinventions' Squirt has singlehandedly turned our opinion around for wax-based chain lubricants. This one actually does what it says and does it well, and it's now the first bottle we reach for when heading out in dry conditions. Bravo!

| I have never used this product before but after reading about it on the net thought I had too try it and try it I did.
I cleaned my bike down and removed all traces of old lube along with degreasing it and started a fresh applying squirt as dirrected. The chain had been left for about 7 hours before I took it out for a night ride which BTW is MTB. Well I was gob smacked my whole drive train was whisper quite and you could feel the slickness using the squirt. Got home that night and had a good look at the chain and it was as clean as a whistle. During the remainder of the week riding - same result - no dirt or crap on my drive train and it remained smooth and snappy shifting.
Thanks so much Alastair for this product you have a return customer this is the best lube I have ever used and I have used them all. This product does what it says and no amount of praise will ever show this products true worth until you have made a purchase and used it because many product are full of bullshit in there sales pitch but not squirt. Please pass onto Richard my thankyou as well and maybe oneday we will catch each other on the trails.

you can't stress enough to everyone that uses this product to spend the time and do a proper clean and degrease so the chain is like new minus any factory lube. Same goes for the cassette and chainrings. Some folk are just too lazy to go that extra mile but then bitch and complain that product doesn't work but only if they cleaned things in the first place. Sure most lube will work over old lube but the results will be far from perfect.
I'm almost at the end of my second week and in that time only re-lubed once and still no change in my opinion this stuff is fantastic. Still haven't had a real go in the wet yet but come winter I'm sure it will get tested and I'm confident that my dry dusty experiance will carry over to mud and rain and not fail me.
Your more than welcome to use my comments on your web site and you can be sure that I will be spreading the word about this product. The second bottle I also purchased I gave away to some of my riding mates too all share and use because most of them are tight asses and use cheap lube but complain the whole time. So I figured if your all cheap asses there is only one way to get them to experiance what I have experianced with Squirt and that is too forfeit at my cost a bottle and then listen to there change of tone. Already news has got back too me how good it is from some of them that have applied it and gone riding.
Once they work out the lenght of time Squirt lasts between lubes and the gain they will have the better these tight asses will figure out the cost is bugger all spread out of the life of the bottle content. Anyway would be great to plan a trip up north and ride at Melrose so that is something I must do and schedule in.

This is the dream when it comes to any product. Squirt Lube lives up to every claim it lists on its website, label and marketing. It keeps the chain clean (again.functionally clean), quiet and smooth for several rides between applications. It goes on easy, lasts through muddy and wet rides and sheds the gunk as you go. And it's environmentally friendly. Literally, there is nothing wrong with this product. At AU$17 per 120ml bottle, it's on par with other lubes in terms of price, but it doesn't take much to coat the chain, and I've only had to apply it about every third ride.so it should last a while. With all that in mind, I give it Five Thumbs Up! |

| "It is amazing how a little squirt can get you out of a lot of trouble". Like this story about a guy riding on his Pearl White Knolly Endorphin in Canada. Luckily, his super quiet squirt-filled chain enabled him to sneak past a giant grizzly bear before it could react and have him for dinner. Now that could just be a story BUT WHY TAKE THE CHANCE! Then there was the guy that went for a ride around lake Eyre (salt lake - empty most of the time) in Outback Oz. He got lost and had to live off of his 2 120mL bottles of squirt for a week. Every other lube would have made him sick but squirt, being just water and wax, managed to get him through until he was rescued. Still today he prefers squirt as a substitute for hollandaise sauce.. THIS STUFF IS VERSATILE! It's a chain lube, a chamois creme, a survival food.. better than KY. Does your current lube measure up. Give squirt a try and stop searching for "your lube". |

And a small note on how some folk might not get the same squirt experience. DO NOT APPLY OVER A GREASY CHAIN THAT HAS HAD OTHER WET OR "DRY" LUBES ON IT - DEGREASE FIRST, IT WILL BE THE LAST TIME YOU HAVE TO! AND DON'T WIPE ANY OFF.

De cuando en cuando aparecen pequeños productos que logran sorprendernos, en algunos casos en aspectos que pensábamos que ya estaba todo inventado, y eso nos ha ocurrido en este test, con el que nos hemos llevado una grata sorpresa.

Se trata del lubricante específico para cadena de bicicleta Squirt, basado en una mezcla de ceras y no en grasas o lubricantes sintéticos como suele ser lo habitual. En este caso, el líquido es blanco, parecido a leche (o látex rebajado), y esto es la primera cosa que nos ayudará a su aplicación, ya que permite controlar mejor la cantidad aplicada al contrastar bien con el color de la cadena. Algunas de las ventajas que promete este lubricante son su larga duración incluso en condiciones de humedad, no acumular suciedad y mantener siempre la cadena limpia, alargar la vida de la cadena y evitar chupados, y todos ellos los hemos comprobado. Además permite una fácil aplicación por su textura, con su uso no se necesita limpiar ni desengrasar la cadena, no contiene disolventes y es biodegradable y respetuoso con el entorno.
El producto está muy ligado a la competición y ha sido usado por corredores que han quedado en las primeras posiciones en Mundiales, Copas del Mundo, carreras como la Cocodrile Trophy y Cape Epic y esponsorizan a corredores de primera linea como Ned Overend, Travis Brown, Mike Kloser, Jaap Viergever, Conrad Stolz o el español Alejandro Díaz de la Peña .
Pero aparte de toda esta información, ¿Cómo funciona el lubricante en nuestras bicis? Su aplicación es diferente a los demás lubricantes existentes, ya que deberemos colocarlo con antelación, pues es mejor que se seque antes de usar la bicicleta. En la primera aplicación es conveniente limpiar la cadena de restos de lubricantes convencionales mediante un desengrasante. Una vez eliminados estos restos y seca la cadena, se recomienda una primera aplicación de Squirt por la cara interna de la cadena mientras se ruedan las bielas para su correcta distribución por toda la cadena (aquí es donde el color blanco nos ayuda a comprobar si ya hemos lubricado toda la cadena). Después dejaremos secar el lubricante sin eliminar los restos, unos 5 minutos y aplicaremos una nueva dosis de lubricante. Cuando esta segunda aplicación se seque, ya tendremos la bicicleta lista para salir a montar.
Este quizá es el único punto "negativo" que le podríamos encontrar (por ponerle alguno, bueno, y que las instrucciones del bote sólo estén en inglés, aunque en su web sí las puedes ver en castellano), ya que es necesario esperar a que la cadena se seque del lubricante, así que tendremos que "cambiar un poco el chip": engrasamos la cadena al llegar de ruta en vez de justo cuando vayamos a salir. Una vez aplicado el lubricante, para sucesivas salidas se recomienda aplicar cada 2 ó 3 salidas, con la cadena seca y una sola vez .
En las pruebas de campo que nosotros hemos realizado, el lubricante nos ha sorprendido gratamente. La cadena se silencia, deja de hacer el típico ruido "de cadena" y su funcionamiento es finísimo. En salidas con lluvia en las que la cadena ha quedado muy perjudicada por el barro, seguía funcionando perfectamente, sin ruidos, sin chupados de cadena... ciertamente una maravilla. Además, un único lubricante funciona perfectamente para condiciones secas (no acumula polvo) y húmedas (su actividad continúa con barro y lluvia).
En conclusión, un producto a nuestro parecer cien por cien recomendable.
El lubricante Squirt está disponible en botes de 120 ml a un precio de 10,80 euros en venta por Internet y 10,50 euros en tiendas. El motivo de la diferencia de 0,30 euros más en la web es porque es un servicio a los consumidores finales, no una competencia a las tiendas. Se busca dar un servicio a aquellos consumidores que no tienen un punto de venta cercano, debido a la reciente llegada de Squirt al mercado nacional.

"G'day OTE,
Just been into my local bike shop, Oxygen Cycles where I bought some Squirt Lube, had to tell them how good it is. They suggested that I let you as the distributors know. I have just recently ridden to Darwin, via the Oodnadatta track, then straight up through the Finke,. So it was on dirt roads for the better part of Adelaide to Alice. At the time I got held up with rain for 2 days just north of Marree, and 3 days in Oodnadatta, So you would understand that the roads were pretty muddy, with mud well and truly over the chain. Then it turns into pretty sandy, with sand every where. The upshot this is that I am amazed at the job Squirt Lube does, just nothing sticks to it. In 2 months of riding I never wiped the chain with a rag, or tried/needed to clean it. I can run my finger along it with just the slightest sign of dirt showing. This was after using the lube every day, the thing is I took a new chain with me but even now I don't think I will change it yet for awhile. Nor have I needed to clean it yet, in spite of cleaning the bike.
I've ridden a bike for over 50 yrs. and have never seen anything like it. The closest thing would be candle wax that we used to rub on a one inch pitch block chain (now that 's going back)
