TP1 Pedal Cleat Tool

NEW! Optimal Ergonomics from correct cleat installation. Cleats in the correct position mean that the feet are correctly positioned on the pedal. This improves your performance, your comfort and your long term enjoyment. The advantages of the correct installation of your cleats is something you will notice immediately. The Ergon TP1 is a tool which enables the precise installation of cleats onto your shoes. The position of your feet, relative to each other has been made incredibly simple with the Ergon TP1. Fine adjustment is also easy thanks to the grid markings on the tool itself. The Ergon TP1 makes cleat installation fast and accurate for everyone. Included with the TP1 is a Handbook. This is an important component of the tool. It explains the ergonomic principles and biomechanic thinking behind the use of the TP1. Additional Expert Tips are included at every stage, which focus on an ergonomically correct pedalling technique and the performance gains which it brings about. The Ergon Pedal Cleat Tool has been developed with a number of common clipless pedal systems in mind, and each system has a specific tool. Using the combined experience of experts in ergonomics, designers and sports scientists the Ergon TP1 is a system which meets the demands of all cyclists. Click here for video demonstration.

Mountain Bike Australia Magazine and AMB and Australian Cyclist have reviews on the GP-1 grips. The truth is out there, so grab a copy, and get some of these grips and give them a try. Especially if you get sore hands or forearms or neck pain of any sort or are doing any longer rides or 24 hr races.

Most people are very happy with them indeed - do yourself a favour and finish off the bike building process with a decent pair of grips.. They are comfortable, last heaps longer than other lock-on grips, and Irina uses them - need any more reasons..

Irina won the World Cup at Stromlo 2008 and World Champs 2009.. We were there to help her along the way and to make her giggle at our wierd Australian ways.

More info on Irina at www.irina-kalentieva.com and www.ergon-bike.com

She may only measure 1.56 m in height, but she likes to compensate this in her very own way: Standing on top of the podest, Ira is again overtowering her competitors by one head. Irina "Ira" Kalentieva is a world-class mountain biker. She has been with the Topeak Ergon Racing Team for several years now and celebrating successess along he way. Take 2008: Two worldcup victories and a bronze medal at Beijing is an impressive balance.

Travelling around with the worldcup circus, like the successful trip to the Olympics in China, is an emotional enrichment to Ira. That is exactly what makes her special. She is acting naturally and open to everybody she meets. And she giggles a lot. Actually she is giggling all the time, except when she is racing. On the trail, she is fighting for every hundredth of a second. But afterwards, she is wearing her winner smile again. Or better, her winner giggle.

Irina and local ergon girl, Sarah Holmes - check out the ergon blog for more info.

Ergon looks at the details.

The Ergon development team consists specialists in different fields. There are bike experts, racing cyclists, sports scientists, physicians, ergonomics experts and engineers. It is a comprehensive team. In terms of bicycle industry history, there has never been a grip with as much effort placed in its development as the Ergon hand grips. Even in apparently small details, Ergon makes the difference.

The Ergon Philosophy

Carbon monocoque frames, electronic gears and intelligent dampers. The technological developments in the bike industry are as fast paced as ever. In the quest to make the bikes still more enjoyable, more comfortable, effi cient or faster, manufacturers are concentrating on "Hardware Technology". However, will technology make the desired leaps possible? According to a study of the German Sports University in Cologne, more than 90% of those people taking part complained of aches and pains around their person when cycling. An important reason for this is poor ergonomics. Incorrect ergonomics on the bike can see discomfort turn into sharp pain and can signifi cantly spoil the enjoyment of cycling. In competition incorrect ergonomics can cost valuable energy and therefore places. Ergonomics is about putting the person as the focus, not the technology. For this reason, at Ergon, cyclists are at the centre of our search for the best connection between rider and bike. Bike ergonomics is extremely complicated and requires knowledge across different disciplines. For this reason the development team at Ergon is made up of specialists in different areas. There are bike experts, racers, sports scientists, ergonomics experts, engineers and industrial designers. Their aim is to develop products that offer the best ergonomics for cyclists, which combine the best scientifi c principles with practicality. The performance of Ergon products is tested in scientific laboratory studies, on the test rigs of the technical institutes and just as importantly with sweat and tears in everyday use or under race conditions. Cycling press editorials, international design award and the hardest race conditions in the world confi rm that Ergon are at the cutting edge.

Tory Thomas - Local Aussie Champ and GX2 Carbon Fan - a quick profile. She is from Mt Beauty, Vic.

2007 Australian XC mountainbike Champion
2nd Oceania XC mountainbike Championships
Australian XC mountainbike Series Champion

Victorian XC mountainbike Champion
1st Tour of Bright
3rd Australian XC mountainbike championships
2005 Returning to riding and racing after a riding accident
2004 Australian 24hr solo mountainbike Champion

This girl is tough. Riding 24hrs solo is enough in its own right but she has her head in a good place and recovered from a bad tangle with a car to keep winning races. Loves the way her bike handles with her ergon grips so beware of the girl with the bright green GX2 carbons. She might be smiling but she is also pedalling very fast! Now riding with DC's Fitzroy Revolution.
