The Over The Edge Experience - Open For the Business of Riding. What does that mean? Well, we are pretty much around and riding most mornings at 7.00am for a quick burst in the hills so call us on 8666 2222 or call Rich on 0417 341 462 or Al on 0428 773 104 if you need a rental or bike supplies, we would love for you to come and ride with us on some really sketchy singletrack. And we have some Women Specific Riding Clinics (free) happening so contact us girls and put your name down if you want to learn some MTB skills so you can head into some of the beautiful hills in the Flinders Ranges,.. and the world.. there are optional drinks afterwards to get an overall caloric and mental state balance.

The Solution to the Global Financial Crisis
Don't stress that you can't get that new car now or the kitchen upgrade. Just keep it very simple. No good moping about the place. Get out on a trail in style and just go berserk and leave all those worries behind. It is amazing how they all vanish when you are dealing with superb singeltrack features. Step 1: Remove money from bank for dream bike(s). Step 2: Build singletrack everywhere, ride your bike. Step 3: Plant very large vegetable permaculture garden complex. Step 4: That's it.. there is no more to do. Told you it was simple. Perhaps a Goat thrown in for good measure, feta, and the odd ceremony..
International Connection and the Fat Tyre Festival
Over The Edge Sports originated in Fruita, Colorado. This is an area of spectacular scenic beauty with singletrack everywhere. And now there is a great new location in Hurricane, Utah!
The OTE family and international guests will be at the Melrose Fat Tyre Festival (June 5-8) in 2009. Come along and ride with them. We can also help you organise a trip to Fruita and Hurricane.

The Flinders Ranges Adventure Race
Sunday May 16-17 2009 - Because some people like to have fun
Thanks to everyone for their interest and feedback. See the date above for some prep time for next year. We will also have a tamer course in there for people after an adventure that doesn't cause them to suffer rhabdomyolysis. The trails - . There are a lot of races around that slog through some beautiful country but the trails are rutted out poorly contoured 4WD tracks and maybe a wee bit of singletrack if you are lucky. How about riding on 60km of singletrack through the picturesque and rugged Flinders Ranges from Melrose to Port Germein (~75km).. kayak from the jetty to Mambray Creek (~25km) and run back over Mt Remarkable to Melrose (20+km). And if that all sounds a bit arduous then break it up with a team.. and other tamer courses available too. Lots of options and lots of refreshments when you get back to Melrose.. World's Longest Pub Crawl - Blinman to Melrose to McLarenVale
September 18-30 2009
This is a serious event with serious rules (they are still being formulated). Licensed establishments near the trails must be visited and some of their fares must be sampled. Sure there are long distances between pubs, and there will need to be a balance to the riding and rehydration strategy but it is sure to be fun in a world that can sometimes make the smallest things so serious and complicated. This is simply about bike and beer and the celebration of a well earned thirst. When? September 18-20+. Options abound..
THE ADELAIDE MOUNTAIN BIKE CLUB'S BARTAGUNYAH CROSS COUNTRY RACE
SUN 4th OCTOBER 2009
There is a buzz about 2009. OTE have been working with ADL MTB club and the current concept is looking like a 15, 50, or 100km endurance race taking in some spectacular Mt Remarkable scenery and some sketchy off-camber singletrack, rocks, and logs and kangaroos to dodge, mount and flow over.. Watch this space for updates. Should be a whole lot of fun and there is also a new 10km of singletrack at nearby Orroroo that will be ready for an optional extra jaunt on the Saturday..and it is nice!
THE MOVEMBER CHARITY RIDE: PT AUGUSTA TO MELROSE (65km)
SUNDAY 29th Nov 2009 - 7am start to beat the heat. Departs from Avanti Plus (52 Victoria Parade), Pt Augusta. Come along and we'll paint on a mo if you don't have one. All bikes welcome. Rich and Al are doing it on a tandem and plenty will be on mountain bikes so don't be afraid, it will be a long line.. Wear crazy stuff too, but keep it cool, so unfortunately no kilts but lap-laps will be fine though not sure if they come with much of a chamois. Finish at OTE for a BBQ and some wind down drinks.. Prizes too - King of the Mountain (Horrocks Pass) etc..
Tour Down Under 2010 Ride - Melrose to Adelaide
Saturday before the start of the Tour Down Under we will be riding on the road to Adelaide. Starting at Over the Edge Melrose early and finishing in Adelaide TBC. We will be organising this once the dates for the TDU have been released. Start your training now!
